I grew up in a small village in Germany, which has more cows than people who actually live there.
After I graduated from high school, I moved to Cologne, to start an integrated degree program in hotel and tourism.
As fate would have it, I got to know Tayler there, who turned my life completely upside down and to whom I owe my life today!
Since happiness and suffering are close to each other, at the same time, my personal superhero, my dad passed away. It was the hardest time of my life, but it showed me, that life can change from one second to another, that life is too short for regrets and that every second is incredibly precious.
I made a promise to myself. I decided to follow my dream and step out into the big, wide world. I applied for my dream job, emigrated to Dubai a few months later and started to travel the world from there - first as a flight attendant for Emirates.
I was incredibly proud and loved my job. Soon I realized that I loved travelling more than the work as a flight attendant. I wanted to decide for myself when I wanted to travel, where I wanted to go and how long I wanted to stay.
Now exactly this dream came true and since then I’m able to travel the world with Tayler! 🌍 💫
How do you describe a story that isn't "normal" at all?!
School was certainly not one of my best times.
After the second time I had to repeat class, I decided to change my school and my place of residence and to graduate from secondary school instead of graduating from high school.
When I was 16, I was already drawn to the next town. I applied for an apprenticeship as a hotel specialist in Cologne and got the job immediately.
When I accepted my first tenure after 3 years of apprenticeship, something happened that I hadn't expected at all - I met Anika in the hotel lobby where I was working and couldn’t take my eyes off her.
In 2014 I felt uncomfortable and I didn't know what to do in my job, so I was looking for a change and I applied for jobs all over the world with more than 80 applications.
Disillusioned I had to find out that CVs were more important than the actual job performance and so I got 80 rejections.
The last rejection from Dubai, however, was connected with a phone call, during which I was asked if I would also accept another position. I accepted without thinking about it for a second. Less than 6 weeks later I quit my secure job, my great apartment and moved to Dubai. The first 2 years in Dubai were a successful crash-landing like out of a storybook. I had a job that I didn't like, hardly earned any money, made debts & went around in circles. And then fate gave me hint…
By a coincidence I became aware of a business over Facebook, which now changed my life completely. The answer was Network Marketing.
After 14 months part-time in Network Marketing I was able to quit my job and start feeling the ultimate freedom for the first time by traveling. For more than 2 years now I've been traveling around the world with Anika with the simple message: Love Life Passport.
Now that you know our individual stories, it is time to tell OUR STORY.
First of all, we have to say that we both experienced getting to know each other differently and so both of us always tell a different story - hahaha!
However, we’ve tried to find a common ground for you!
Sit back and we hope you enjoy reading.
When Anika started her apprenticeship at the Cologne Marriott Hotel in August 2013, Tayler had already successfully completed his apprenticeship at the same hotel, working full time and anticipating every guest's wishes. The first time we met was in the lobby, when Tayler distributed umbrellas to the hotel guests. It was definitely not love at first sight.
Anika's first thought: "Oh my God, what an arrogant prick!
Tayler's first thought: "Wow, she doesn't look so bad!"
So, you can't call the beginning of this love story particularly romantic.
Anyone who knows Tayler's determination, knows that he does everything in his power to achieve his goals. So, whenever it was possible he ran into Anika by pure chance, sought the conversation, waited for her after work in front of the staff exit to accompany her to the station (he had to go in the same direction by pure chance), played the Cologne tour guide and then left her a Facebook message in a very charming way.
This message quickly turned into endless chat sessions, hours of phone calls and the first party together! The first party turned into the first kiss and Tayler had reached his goal and Anika was head over heels in love.
Everything from then, its course took over several months, with many ups and downs. Tayler was the one who made the whole thing insanely complicated and just couldn't fell a decision.
When Tayler decided to emigrate to Dubai in May 2014 and sent off the first applications, Anika abandoned the idea of a long-distance relationship, because that was the last thing she wanted.
Suddenly the tables turned. On July 4, 2014, nine days before Tayler moved to Dubai, he finally admitted that he couldn't live without Anika.
For the first time he blatantly whispered the three magic words into her ear.
On July 13th, two broken hearts stood at the airport and faced a huge challenge, called a long-distance relationship.
Contrary to the opinion of many people in our vicinity, after initial difficulties and many tears, we have successfully mastered 2 years of a long-distance relationship between Cologne and Dubai. Afterwards we can proudly say, that this time has made us incredibly strong.
On 30th September 2016 the time had finally come: Anika completed her integrated degree program and moved to Dubai. From this day on, a completely new, more intense and even more beautiful chapter began for both of us ...
